                                               Pastor Adam Gislason’s Biography

Pastor Adam Gislason grew up in Buffalo, Minnesota and first believed in Jesus Christ as his Lord & Savior at the age of 10 while attending Lake Beauty Bible Camp in Long Prairie, Minnesota. He attended Zion Lutheran Church in Buffalo, Minnesota through 8th grade and then went to the Buffalo Covenant Church through 12th grade. He attended Bethel University in 1986 and graduated in 1990 with a major in Speech Communications and a minor in Business.

In 1991, he married his wife, Amelia, who he met at Bethel University and started attending Living Shepherd Lutheran Church in Bloomington, Minnesota. In 1996, they started attending River Fellowship (Lutheran/Non-Denominational), where he became the Senior Pastor in 2002. In 2004, he became the Senior Pastor of RiverBridge Community Church (Evangelical Free Church) until February, 2008.

In May 2008, he started an independent, non-denominational discernment ministry called Great Adventure Ministries out of great concern for the false teachings and movements that have been coming into the Christian church over the past several years as well as a passion for current events as they relate to Bible prophecy.

A gifted speaker and musician, he now speaks at churches, conferences, camps, to leadership teams, youth groups and small groups to (1) help warn the church of these false teachings and movements (2) help people understand the times we live in as they relate to Bible prophecy (3) help equip the church with resources for discernment (4) help bring Christians back into obedience to Jesus Christ and the written Word of God which all Christian doctrine and teaching should be derived and (5) help promote the preaching of the true Gospel of Jesus Christ to the ends of the earth which is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes (Romans 1:16).

In addition to attending Bethel University from 1986-1990, he also attended Transforming Ministry in 2002 through the Evangelical Free Church and graduated in 2005 with a non-accredited degree in ministry. He was a Senior Pastor for 6 years, an Elder in the church for 12 years and has extensive experience in leading worship, youth groups and small groups.

Having been personally involved in many of the false teachings and movements that threaten the church today and throughout history, he has devoted his life and ministry to the study of the truth found in the Bible. However, he is quick to say that his walk with the Lord and his family come before ministry.

Years ago he said he was at a Dallas Holm concert. Dallas said, “If I reach the whole world, but lose my own family, I would consider myself a failure. Early on, I set a priority system that put God first, family second and ministry third. If I’m not the father and husband I need to be in my own home, I have no right to proclaim truths of the Kingdom to others.” Pastor Adam has never forgotten that. He and his wife Amelia live in Hackensack, Minnesota with their dog Judah and have been married 18 years.
